The 2017-18 season will be Armendariz's third as an assistant coach at Hancock.Armendariz is in charge of the program's youth basketball league and youth camps.

He has 11 years of coaching experience, including four seasons with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas men’s basketball program. He spent two season as the Runnin’ Rebels’ student manager and two more as a graduate assistant. Armendariz was responsible for assisting with daily operations from film editing, practices, travel, workout development and youth camps. UNLV reached the NCAA Tournament in three of his four seasons with the program.

The Nevada native received a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in athletic coaching and a master’s degree in school counseling from UNLV.
