Bio

Seth Damron enters his second official season at the helm of the football program in 2022 after missing the 2020 season due to the pandemic. Damron is in his fifth overall season with the Bulldogs, after he previously served as the offensive coordinator for three seasons and wrapped up his first season as defensive coordinator in 2019. Prior to Hancock, Damron served as the linebackers and special teams coach at Humboldt State University, a Division II program. He also spent three seasons on the Colorado Mesa coaching staff and was responsible for the defensive line and special teams.

Damron's offenses earned three consecutive top-ten finishes in several major rushing categories. In the 2018-19 season, the Bulldogs ranked first in total rushing yards, yards per game, and rushing touchdowns. In his first season as defensive coordinator, the Bulldogs defense had their best showing since the 2000 season. The Bulldogs ranked in the top five for total points allowed per game, third in yards allowed per game, and first in passing yards allowed per game.

Damron played two years at Colorado Mesa, known then as Mesa State, where he averaged 11.7 yards-per-catch over 21 games at tight end. In 2009, his senior season, he earned All-Conference Second Team honors and was an All-Conference Academic First Team pick. He transferred to Mesa State after two years as an all-conference player for Bakersfield College.

He graduated from Mesa State with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology.
