CAST OF "THE WOLVES" AND HANCOCK WOMEN'S SOCCER JOIN FORCES ON THE FIELD FOR A PRODUCTION ON THE STAGE

CAST OF "THE WOLVES" AND HANCOCK WOMEN'S SOCCER JOIN FORCES ON THE FIELD FOR A PRODUCTION ON THE STAGE

The PCPA cast members of "The Wolves" recently reached out to the Allan Hancock College Women's Soccer team for a little on-field tutelage.

The Wolves is a play that intimately explores the trials and tribulations of a girl's high school indoor soccer team. Many of the scenes and much of the dialogue is set in a practice environment that involve actual soccer warm-ups and stretches. That is where the Bulldogs come in.

Director Karin Hendricks is hoping the time on the field with the Bulldogs will add an authenticity to the play. "The cast is getting practical experience, getting integrated with the soccer team. The soccer team is teaching the cast the warmup which is a huge part of the play. We'll take as many drills as they are willing to give us."

Hancock Women's Head Soccer Coach Billy Vinnedge clearly sees the correlation between soccer and acting. "Whether you are an athlete or an actor, there is a definite comparison in work ethic and commitment and responsibility, and just different rolls on the team. So, It's really cool to see it all come together."

The Wolves will run March 7-24, 2019 at the Severson Theatre. Tickets are available at http://www.pcpa.org/tickets/tickets/

*The Wolves is recommended for children 14 or older due to adult language and mature themes.
