Santa Maria California - Head coach Stefan McGovern and the West Hills College baseball team (7-7) hit the road again on Tuesday to square off against Allan Hancock College. West Hills entered the matchup having won four out of its last five games. Allan Hancock entered the day with a record of 4-9.
The pitching woes continued to haunt the Falcons pitching staff, as Allan Hancock was able to take advantage of 16 walks and 4 hit batters. The Bulldogs were able to stay patient at the plate crossed 11 runs in the first two innings.
In the sixth inning Jeff Torres drove in the first Falcon run of the day with an RBI double down the left field line to score Trent Bollman. Alante Uribe was later brought in on a bulldog wild pitch.
The Bulldogs kept things rolling at the plate and were able to cross 19 runs on 13 hits.
Cody Lorenzini and Matt Siedem both pitched well for the Falcons, as they were the lone bright spots on the staff. Lorenzini pitched 3 innings, giving up 2 hits, 2 runs, while striking out five. Siedem threw one scoreless inning, hitting one batter and striking out two.
Final score: West Hills 2 – Allan Hancock 19
Next Up: The Falcons will travel to Marysville California on March 3rd to faceoff against Yuba College. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
