Hancock Baseball's Annual Spring Classic Opens Tuesday, Five Ranked Teams in This Year's Field

The baseball team hosts the annual Spring Classic from Tuesday through Thursday of this week, March 31-April 2. The 2015 tournament field includes seven other teams, including five teams ranked in the latest regional polls. Canyons (14-10, No. 8 in SoCal), Cerritos (13-11, No. 12 in SoCal), Cuesta (12-13), Cypress (19-6, No. 3 in SoCal), East Los Angeles (11-13), Fresno (22-3, No.2 in NorCal) and Merced (14-10, No. 4 in NorCal) will play at least two games during the three-day tournament.

The Bulldogs open on Tuesday at 2 p.m. against East Los Angeles, before returning to action on Thursday, April 2, to battle Cypress.

Last week, Hancock defeated Cuesta 5-2 on the road, before falling at home to the Cougars and L.A. Pierce by identical scores of 4-2.

Offensively, the Bulldogs are still led by Gerussi-Turner. The shortstop is hitting .338 with a team-high 10 doubles. Colby Barrick is hitting .333 with a team-best three triples, one home run, 17 runs and 12 RBI.
