Tonascia transferred to Hancock from Mission College where he was a Second Team All-Conference catcher. He hit .286 with two home runs, 24 RBI and 18 runs. Tonascia was named league MVP in football and baseball, and was a four-year Scholar-Athlete at San Benito High School. His father, Joe, and aunt, Louise, graduated from Hancock. Tonascia is an agribusiness major.
