Bulldogs top Oxnard in 11 innings, advance to 3-2 in conference play

The Bulldogs shook off an early deficit and score in the 11th inning to get past the Oxnard Condors Thursday afternoon.

The Condors were coming into the contest on a 5-game losing streak, without a win in conference. The Bulldogs were coming off a loss to Cuesta and standing 2-2 in conference play.

Oxnard scored early, knocking in a run in the first inning.

Down 0-1, the Bulldogs rallied back in the top of the 4th inning when sophomore Ismael Hernandez scored on a fielder's choice by freshman infielder Jeff Ray.

The Condors would answer quickly, scoring two runs in the bottom of the 4th to regain the lead 1-3.

In the top of the 5th, freshman outfielder Mike Mclean hit a single bringing in freshman outfielder Joseph Boivin for the score.

Freshman infielder Travis Welker would score on a wild pitch in the 7th inning to tie the score 3-3.

It would take two additional innings to decide the match.

Welker smacked a double and would later score by an error by the Condors in the 11th inning.

Oxnard was unable to answer. Bulldogs win 4-3.

The Bulldogs are now 11-10 overall and 3-2 in conference play. They face Oxnard again at home on Saturday.
