Nine Hancock Football Players Named All-Conference

    Four offensive and five defensive players were named All-Conference for the 2011 football season. Offensive lineman Jose Lopez (Paso Robles) wide receiverShane Henderson (Columbus East) and running back Cameron Artis-Payne (Harrisburg) were unanimous first team All-Conference selections. Offensive tackle Sean Brown (So. Arroyo Grande) was named second team All-Conference.
    
    Henderson averaged 102 yards per game and scored 12 touchdowns during the regular season. He was the only wide receiver in the conference to be named a unanimous first team All-Conference selection. Artis-Payne was the only running back in the conference to receive a unanimous selection as well. He led the Bulldogs in scoring with 16 touchdowns and averaged 120 rushing yards per game for a net total of 1195 yards. A returning starter, Lopez used his experience to lead the offensive linemen this season.

    On the defensive side, Douglas Webb (Forest) was a first team selection as a return specialist. Webb averaged 11 yards on punt returns and 32 yards on kick returns and finished the season ranked second in the state in yards per return.  Defensive tackle Carlos Faumuina (Righetti), defensive end Kepa Nakaahiki (Kauai),  linebacker Cody Berry (Righetti) and Safety Christopher Wheeler (Templeton) were named second team All-Conference selections.

    Berry led the team in tackles with 35 solo and a total of 76 tackles. He had a season high 13 tackles in the season opener against Santa Barbara City College. Wheeler had 42 solo and 70 total tackles and led the team in interceptions with six. Faumuina had a total of 34 tackles and led the team in sacks with five.  In addition to 20 tackles and two sacks Nakaahiki forced one fumble.
