Former Bulldog Artis-Payne Participates in NFL Scouting Combine

Former Allan Hancock College All-American Cameron Artis-Payne participated in the NFL Scouting Combine over the weekend. The recent Auburn graduate ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds to rank sixth among one of the strongest classes of running backs in recent memory.

The All-Southeastern Conference First Team running back also tied for eighth with a vertical jump of 36.5 inches, tied for 15th with 118 inches in the broad jump, and ranked 13th in the three-cone drill with a time of 7.13 seconds. There were 34 halfbacks who competed at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.

Artis-Payne rushed for 1,608 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior for Auburn, which led the SEC. The former Bulldog also measured an arm length of 29 5/8 inches and a hand size of 8 7/8 inches. He did not complete the bench press drill while he recovers from an injury he sustained during the 2014 season. Artis-Payne said he planned to participate in the bench press during the NFL Pro Day at Auburn in early March.

More than 300 prospects participated in the 2015 Combine in their quest to achieve their NFL dreams. The 2015 NFL Draft starts on April 30 and ends on May 2.

Artis-Payne rewrote the record books during his time at Hancock from 2011-12. He owns single-season records for most rushing yards (2,048) and rushing youchdowns (25), as well as the  records for most career rushing yards (3,412) and most career touchdowns (43).
