Former Bulldog Artis-Payne Rushes for 70 Yards and Touchdown in Carolina Preseason Game

Former Allan Hancock College All-American Cameron Artis-Payne continued to impress during the preseason for the Carolina Panthers. The third-year running back led the team with 70 rushing yards on just five carries, including a one-yard touchdown run against Tennessee on Saturday. Artis-Payne is competing for a roster spot this preseason with the Panthers. During his first two seasons in the NFL, Artis-Payne compiled 327 rushing yards on 81 carries and three touchdowns with the Panthers.

Artis-Payne is Hancock's all-time leader in single-season and career rushing yards and touchdowns.

The Panthers return to action Thursday, August 24, in Jacksonville against the Jaguars. 

Former Bulldog Josh Thornton, a rookie cornerback with the Detroit Lions, recorded one tackles in the Detroit Lions' 16-6 win over the New York Jets. He deflected a pass against Indianapolis in Detroit's preseason opener.
