Skinner and Pollard Named League Players of the Week

The Southern California Football Association (SCFA) recognized two Allan Hancock College football players who were instrumental in the Bulldogs' 44-34 road win at L.A. Pierce last weekend. Running back Ryheem Skinner and kicker Jordan Pollard were named the Week 9 Players of the Week of the American Pacific League

Skinner (pictured below, left) earned Offensive Player of the Week for the first time this season after he rushed for 144 yards on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns. The freshman became the first Hancock player to score three rushing touchdowns in a single-game since Cameron Artis-Payne scored four times in 2012. Skinner scored on the second play of the game with a 77-yard run. Later, he added 3- and 15-yard touchdown runs. Skinner surpassed the 100-yard mark for the second straight game and third time this season.

Pollard (pictured below, right) received Special Teams Player of the Week for the second straight week. The sophomore accounted for a career-best 14 points in Hancock's victory. He made all three of his field goal attempts, converting two 29-yard field goals and a career-long 36-yard try. He has made six consecutive field goals. The Righetti High School graduate also made all five of his point-after-touchdown kicks. Pollard became the first Hancock kicker since 2008 to make three field goals in one game. He also averaged 43 yards per punt.

Hancock will travel to Antelope Valley for a 6 p.m. game on Saturday, Nov. 4. The two teams are tied for first place at 3-0 in Pacific League play. The Bulldogs are 6-2 overall and in contention for the program's first league title since 2000.
