Football's Max Stineman Signs with Eastern Illinois University

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - After a stellar freshman campaign with the Allan Hancock College football program, Max Stineman has signed with Eastern Illinois University to continue his playing career at the next level.

The Hawaii native served as a pillar for the Bulldogs' offensive line during his freshman campaign. He received First Team All-League recognition at the conclusion of the season after seeing action in nine games. 

"We're very excited for Max and look forward to following his success at the next level," shared head coach Seth Damron. "One of the most rewarding things about coaching at this level is there right here - celebrating the successes of our athletes and creating opportunities for continued success when they're ready to move on."

Stineman moved to California midway through his high school career, landing at and eventually graduating from St. Joseph High School. During his senior season with the Knights, Stineman served as a team captain and earned All-League honors.

"I just want to thank everyone here at St. Joe's," shared Stineman. "I came up here and they were like my second family, my family away from home. They welcomed me with open arms, especially Mrs. Dougherty who kind of was like my second mom. Thanks to the coaches here for helping me improve as a player and to Coach Damron and the Hancock community for helping me further that improvement. Also, thank you to my parents for allowing me to chase this dream and I'm so grateful for everything they've done as well. Now I get to live out my dream of playing Division I football and I couldn't be more excited." 

Eastern Illinois, located in Charleston, is a Division I member of the NCAA and competes in the Ohio Valley Conference. A full list of individuals joining Stineman and the Panthers next season can be found here.
