Football's Vic Garnes Commits to Colorado Mesa

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Allan Hancock College defensive back, Vic Garnes, has committed to continue his academic and athletic career at Colorado Mesa University next season.

"I chose Colorado Mesa because I had a great connection with the coaches and the football program is good. I also like that it is close to home for me," Garnes shared.

Garnes, a native of Colorado, spent two seasons on the field for the Bulldogs. He was tabbed as an All-League Honorable Mention selection at the conclusion of the season after totaling 46 tackles and two interceptions through 11 games. As a freshman, Garnes registered seven total tackles through four games before being sidelined due to an injury.

"I learned a lot of lessons while here at Hancock that will help me be successful at the next level. The people here like the coaches, Shelby, Lainey, and Miss Kim really helped me throughout my time at AHC," Garnes added. "I learned how important it is tp always to be ahead of the game and to handle your own business while maturing as a man here."

The Mavericks are a Division II member of the NCAA and compete in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
