Bio

Pu’a was an outstanding player for the Bulldogs on the offensive line before moving to Southwestern Oklahoma State for the 1997 and 1998 seasons. He is in his 16th year as a coach at Hancock. Hancock led the state in rushing yards per game and rushing touchdowns behind Pu’a’s coaching. Four offensive lineman from Hancock’s 2017 league champion team signed football scholarships to four-year universities. Pu’a played two years in the Arena Football League. He attended Samoana High School in American Samoa. Pu’a and his wife, Candy, have four children, including Ely-Jah, a freshman on this year’s team.
