Hancock Youth Basketball Club Announces August Clinics

Hancock Youth Basketball Club Announces August Clinics

To help build on a successful spring and start to the summer, Allan Hancock College men's basketball head coach Tyson Aye has announced two youth basketball sessions in August.

The first session runs from August 4-7 with the second session going from August 11-14, inside Joe White Memorial Gymnasium on the college's Santa Maria campus. Instruction will go from 9 a.m. to noon each day. The price will be $95 per child, per session.

"We enjoyed overwhelming success with our spring clinics," said coach Aye. "At the request of many of our Hancock Youth Basketball Club family members, we wanted to continue the positive momentum of our basketball club and bridge the gap from the community to Hancock basketball."

Aye launched the Hancock Youth Basketball Club in late March. More than 100 children from along the Central Coast attended the club's coaching clinics during the months of April and May.

"It is great to see our campers learning the fundamentals of the game and  having a blast in the process," added Aye. "I look at the two sessions as a great way to end the summer and start a new season of Bulldogs basketball."

The Hancock Youth Basketball Club also plans to launch a youth league in the fall for boys in the sixth grade through high school. More information about the fall league will be released in the coming weeks.
