Bulldogs Drop 70-66 Decision at Cuesta Tournament

Despite 21 points from Lavell White and 14 from Kadeem Minor, the Bulldogs fell 70-66 to Mendocino at Cuesta College on Saturday night. The Bulldogs, who were ranked ninth in the Regional Preseason Coaches Poll, dropped to 0-2 to start the season.

White, a sophomore transfer from Polk State, made 8 of his 16 shots from the floor, including a 3 for 9 clip from three-point range. He added a team-high 8 rebounds. 

Minor made 4 of his 10 shots from beyond the arc to go with 5 rebounds, while Lawrence Johnson came off the bench to add 11 points. The sophomore guard went 3 of 7 from the floor and hit 4 of his 6 free throws. Andre Miller added 7 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

Freshman Marcus Schneider pulled down 7 rebounds, including 4 on the offensive side of the glass. Arinze Anakwenze added six boards.

The Bulldogs shot 34 percent from the floor (20-59), 29 percent from three-point range (9-31) and 63 percent from the free throw line (17-27). They were outrebounded 47-41 by Mendocino.

Chris Ketter led Mendocino with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Corey James added 17 points behind four 3-point buckets.
