Hancock Hosts Talented Field During Inaugural Home Motors Invitational Friday Through Sunday

The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team is about to host a field of talented programs that includes a Central Coast rival and two teams ranked among the top eight in the state. Hancock is hosting the inaugural Home Motors Invitational on Friday, Nov. 20, through Sunday, Nov. 22.  All games will be played inside Joe White Memorial Gymnasium. Tickets are $6 for adults, and $3 for seniors and children. Hancock students, faculty and staff receive free admission with proper identification.

Hancock (2-2) will welcome Cuesta (2-1), College of Marin (3-3), Napa Valley (0-2), Yuba (1-2) and San Diego City College (2-2). Yuba is ranked No. 6 in the state's preseason poll, while Marin is tabbed at No. 8. San Diego is No. 13 in the South Regional.

The Bulldogs, who are off to a 2-2 start, are the reigning co-champions of the Western State Conference. Hancock is led by freshman guard Malik Rhodes, as well as by sophomore guard Matt Willkomm, an Arroyo Grande High School graduate and All-Conference First Team pick last season.

Action begins at 3 p.m. on Friday with Cuesta against Marin, followed by San Diego against Yuba at 5 p.m. The host Bulldogs will battle Napa Valley at 7 p.m.to close the first day.

Saturday's schedule will pair San Diego with Marin at 1 p.m., Cuesta against Napa at 3 p.m., and Hancock versus Yuba at 5 p.m.

Sunday, the final day of the invitational, will see Cuesta play Yuba at noon, San Diego will face Napa Valley at 2 p.m., while Marin and Hancock will close out the three-day event at 4 p.m.

The Hancock men will also host the 51st annual AHC Holiday Tournament from Monday, Dec. 28, through Wednesday, Dec. 30.
