Three Hancock Men's Basketball Players Receive All-Conference Recognition

Allan Hancock College men's basketball players Marcellus Garrick, Kevawn Lord, and Erik Kinnebrew received high praise from coaches in the Western State Conference's North Division. Garrick and Lord, both sophomores, were named to the All-Conference First Team, while Kinnebrew, a freshman, received honorable mention. 

Garrick was the Bulldogs' leading scorer at 15.9 points per game. The sophomore guard shot 48 percent from the field overall and 36 percent from 3-point range. His numbers jumped in conference play when he averaged 20.3 points and three 3-point baskets per game, along with shooting 47.5 percent from 3-point range. Garrick scored 10 or more points in 24 of his 29 games, including the last 13 he played. The 6-foot-4 forward enjoyed a stretch during conference play where he scored 20 or more points in five out of the team's last seven games. 

Lord ranked second on the team in scoring and rebounds at 12.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game. He averaged 16.7 points during conference games. Lord shot 48 percent from the field overall, including 54 percent in conference play. Lord scored 10 or more points in 18 games, including a career-high 35 points against Oxnard in the final regular season game. Lord secured three double-doubles.

Kinnebrew appeared in all 30 games for the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-6 freshman averaged 7.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game overall. During conference action, he averaged 9 points, 10.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists. Kinnebrew recorded five double-doubles, including a triple-double against El Camino when he had 21 points, 17 rebounds and 16 assists.

Hancock finished the season tied for fourth in the conference standings at 4-6. The Bulldogs ended 14-16 overall under fourth-year head coach Tyson Aye.
