Hancock Men's Basketball Uses Balanced Attack to Defeat Santa Barbara 75-61 in WSC Showdown

Glenn Jordan scored 14 points on four 3-pointers, and Shane Carney finished with 13 points to lead a balanced scoring attack during the Allan Hancock College men's basketball team's 75-61 conference victory at Santa Barbara City College Saturday evening. The Bulldogs evened their Western State Conference record at 1-1 and improved to 14-8 overall. SBCC lost its seventh straight game to fall to 0-2 in league and 1-14 on the season.

Carney scored nine points and Dustin Davis poured in seven in the first half to help the Bulldogs carry a 39-26 lead at halftime. Kevin Baines and Jordan each contributed six points in the first 20 minutes. The Bulldogs shot 50 percent in the first half.

Jordan hit two 3-point buckets in each half for the Bulldogs. On top of his 14 points, Jordan added five assists and five rebounds. Carney finished with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Eleven Bulldogs scored at least two points in the victory. Diego Lucas and Baines finished with eight points apiece. All eight of Lucas' points came in the second half as the guard buried two 3-pointers. Davis finished with seven points and five rebounds, while Spirit Ricks poured in seven points to go with his five rebounds. John Riddick led the Bulldogs with seven rebounds along with six points. Javae Lampkins added three points and four assists.

Hancock compiled 22 assists on the evening.

The Bulldogs return home to host another Central Coast rival, Cuesta, on Wednesday, January 24, at 7 p.m. inside Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
