After a dominating performance against unbeaten Ventura College, the Bulldogs were matched-up against a sharp-shooting Moorpark team Saturday.
With a record of 4-3, Moorpark was standing third in conference and boast one of the top scoring guards in the conference.
It was a back and forth battle during most the first half. Both teams matched each other three-pointer for three-pointer.
It wasn't until the Bulldogs took advantage of Moorpark's lack of rim protection and scored on 5 consecutive lay-ups, to go into halftime with the 1-point lead, 31-32.
Moorpark would take the lead in the second half, up 1-point at the 11 minute mark.
But back to back three-pointers by sophomore forward Spirit Ricks and freshman guard Mike Mensah would regain the Bulldogs lead 49-53.
The Raiders began an aggressive half-court trap, but the Bulldogs would keep their composure, converting on lay-ups and free-throws.
Clutch free-throws by Glenn Jordan and sophomore forward Trenton Mitchell sealed the deal for the Bulldogs. Hancock wins 63-71.
The Bulldogs are now 6-2 in conference play and travel to Santa Barbara this Tuesday, February 19th.
