Men's Basketball Extends Win Streak to Seven with Victory over SBCC

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's basketball team stretched the active win streak to seven after topping Santa Barbara City College, 81-77, on Saturday afternoon inside of the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium. | BOX SCORE

The Bulldogs (15-6, 5-0 WSC) remain at the top of the standings in the Western State Conference (North) with a spotless 5-0 record and have won 14 of their last 16 contests. A solid opening performance proved to be crucial in AHC's win as the home squad held a 14-point advantage at the intermission before being outscored by the visiting Vaqueros (7-13, 2-2 WSC), 47-37, in the second half. Hancock shot a red-hot 56.6 percent from the field, which included 50 points in the paint, while outrebounding SBCC at a 40-24 margin. 

Taevon Pierre-Louis led all scorers on the night en route to his 14th double-double of the season after registering 24 points and 18 rebounds to go along with five assists and as many steals. Vondre Chase added to the effort with a 20 point showing, followed by 10 points apiece from Caleb Whalen and Quincy Bentley

The Bulldogs are set to return to action on Wednesday, January 25th, with a road trip to Ventura College to close out the first round of conference play.
