Austin Kaiser Finishes Fourth at State Golf Championships
    Sophomore Austin Kaiser finished fourth in the CCCAA state golf championships on Monday, May 14 at the Santa Maria Country Club. Kaiser shot a 73 in his first 18 holes and a 70 in his second for a combined score of 143, one over par.
         
     Kaiser was in 11th place going into the second round but made a comeback with four birdies and three bogies, to finish with a 143. Kaiser finished the regular season with the best average score in the Western State Conference, a 72.6, and was named the conference MVP.
             
    College of the Desert took home the state championship title at the tournament, which was hosted by Allan Hancock College, with a combined score of 729. They beat College of the Canyons in a tie-breaker for the title. Austin Grey of College of the Desert captured the individual title with a score of 139, or three under par .
