Hancock Finishes Sixth at WSC #2, Zimkowski Paces Bulldogs with 75

Led by sophomore Robert Zimkowski, who shot a three-over 75, the Allan Hancock College men's golf team finished sixth during the second Western State Conference match of the season on Monday. Santa Barbara City College hosted the match at Alisal Ranch Golf Club in Solvang.

College of the Canyons finished first overall with a total score of 363 strokes. Santa Barbara finished second with 376 and Ventura finished third with 381 strokes. Hancock had a total score of 411, which was six behind fifth place Antelope Valley. Glendale and Bakersfield finished seventh and eighth.

Zimkowksi tied for twelfth overall out of 47 golfers. Nipomo High School graduate Adam Burrola, a Hancock freshman, shot a five-over 77. Alex Linn, an Arroyo Grande High School graduate, carded a 78. Ryan Chamberlain fired a 12-over 84, and Josh Salisbury shot a 97.

Four golfers shot under-par. Canyons' Matt Chang earned medalist honors with a six-under 66.

Hancock returns to action Monday, Feb. 22, at WSC #3, which will be hosted by Bakersfield City College at the Stockdale Country Club.
