Bourke Fires a 79, Burrola Cards an 80 as Hancock Finishes Sixth at WSC #1

Elliot Bourke fired a seven-over 79 to help the Allan Hancock College men's golf team to a sixth-place finish during the first Western State Conference tournament of the season at the Valencia Country Club on Monday.

Sophomore Adam Burrola carded an eight-over 80, while freshman Jeff Rugg fired an 82. Josiah Sanchez shot a 92 and Bryan Tran followed with a 93.

Hancock finished sixth out of nine teams in the team standings with a total score of 426. Ventura finished first with a total count of 388, followed by Santa Barbara at 395, College of the Canyons with 396, Glendale with 402 and Bakersfield with a total score of 422. Citrus finished seventh with 500 strokes, followed by Antelope Valley and Victor Valley.

Canyons' Clay Kucera earned medalist honors with a two-over 64.

Hancock will travel to Bakersfield's Rio Bravo Country Club next week for the second WSC tournament of the season.
