Hancock's Bourke Medals, Burrola Finishes Second During WSC #2

Allan Hancock College freshman golfer Elliot Bourke earned medalist honors by firing a one-under 71 and sophomore Adam Burrola finished second with a two-over 74 during the second Western State Conference men's golf tournament of the season at Rio Bravo Country Club in Bakersfield.

Behind Bourke and Burrola, the Bulldogs finished fifth out of nine teams in the standings with a team score of 415 strokes. College of the Canyons finished first with 382 strokes, followed by Santa Barbara and Ventura with 392 strokes.  Glendale finished fourth with 398, followed by Hancock, Bakersfield (419), LA Valley (494), Citrus (510) and Victor Valley (543).

Jett Rugg fired a 10-over 82 for the Bulldogs, while Derrick Neiman carded a 92, and Josiah Sanchez and Bryan Tran recorded 96s.

The Bulldogs will return to action Monday, Feb. 19, during WSC #3 at Alisal Ranch.
