Hancock Men's Golf Finishes Second at WSC No. 3, Burrola Finishes Second Overall

Adam Burrola finished second overall to lead the Allan Hancock College men's golf team to its best finish at a Western State Conference tournament in several years. The Bulldogs finished second out of nine teams during the third conference tournament of the season on Monday. Santa Barbara City College hosted the tournament at its home course, Alisal Ranch.

Hancock finished with a combined score of 393, 14 strokes behind first-place College of the Canyons. Ventura came in third with a total of 396 strokes, followed by Santa Barbara City College with 398, Glendale with 399, Bakersfield with 415, Antelope Valley with 470, Citrus and Victor Valley.

Burrola carded a two-over 74, one shot behind the medalist, Zack Silverman from Glendale.

Elliot Bourke fired a four-over 76 for the Bulldogs, while Derrick Neiman shot a 79. Freshmen Jett Rugg and Bryan Tran carded 10-over 82s and Josiah Sanchez shot a 99.

The Bulldogs will return to action Monday, Feb. 26, when Ventura College hosts WSC No. 4 at River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard.
