Neiman Shoots One-Under, Hancock Men Finish Fourth at WSC #6

Freshman Derrick Neiman carded a season-best one-under 71 to tie for fourth place in the individual standings to lead the Allan Hancock College men's golf team to a fourth-place finish during the sixth Western State Conference Tournament of the season Monday at the Antelope Valley Country Club. The Bulldogs five-man team finished with a combined score of 383. Santa Barbara City College won the tournament with a total score of 369, followed by Canyons with 376 and Ventura with 381. Bakersfield finished fifth with 389 strokes, followed by Glendale with 403, AVC with 458, Victor Valley with 473 and Citrus in ninth with 485.

Hancock sophomore Adam Burrola fired a one-over 73, while freshman Bryan Tran carded a 74 and Jett Rugg finished with a 79. Elliot Bourke shot an 86 for the Bulldogs.

Ventura's Joey Herrera, Canyons' James Comerford and SBCC's Zack Steinberger earned medalist honors with 3-under 69s on the day.

The Bulldogs will be back in action Monday, March 19 for WSC #7 at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale.
