Bourke Leads Hancock to Third-Place Finish at WSC No. 7

Elliot Bourke shot a six-over 78 to lead the Allan Hancock College men's golf team to third-place finish during a Western State Conference tournament hosted by Glendale College at Oakmont Country Club on Monday. The Bulldogs finished with a total score of 403 strokes to tie Glendale for third place out of nine teams during the seventh conference tournament of the season.

College of the Canyons finished first with a team total of 380, followed by Ventura in second with 394. After Hancock and Glendale came Bakersfield (405), Santa Barbara City (419), Antelope Valley (475), Citrus (482) and Victor Valley (496). Canyons has won five of the seven conference matches this year.

Hancock freshmen Bryan Tran and Jett Rugg carded 80s, sophomore Adam Burrola shot an 82, freshman Derrick Neiman shot an 83 and Josiah Sanchez fired an 88.

Joey Herrera of Ventura earned medalist honors with a three-under 69.

The Bulldogs return to action Monday, March 26 during WSC No. 8, hosted by VictortValley at Spring Lake Country Club.
