Men's Soccer Opens Homestand Tuesday against Clovis

The men's soccer team opens a three-game homestand this week after going 0-2-1 on a 10-day road trip. The Bulldogs first traveled to Nevada and played Utah State University to a 1-1 draw before falling 3-0 to College of Southern Nevada. The Bulldogs also fell 4-1 last week at Bakersfield College.

Hancock will host Clovis (3-3-1) on Tuesday, September 20 before battling Chabot (6-0) Friday, Sept. 23. Both matches will begin at 4 p.m. at Hancock. Christian Cline leads Clovis with four goals, while Sergio Gonzalez and Daniel Ochoa have three apiece. Juan Lara is Chabot's leading scorer with five goals, while Brandon Sosa has buried four in the back of the net. Chabot has outscored its opponents by a combined score of 15-3.

Hancock's offense continues to be paced by freshman forward Migel Gomez (Cabrillo HS) and sophomore Jorge Guzman (Righetti HS).Gomez ranks 14th in the state with five goals, and fifth in California with four assists. Guzman has three goals and one assist. Javier Rios (Lompoc HS) and Bernardo Rubio (Cabrillo HS) have one goal apiece.
