Men's Soccer Ties Clovis 2-2 Behind Goals from Guzman and Gomez

The Bulldogs' dynamic-scoring duo continued to produce offensively Tuesday as the Allan Hancock College men's soccer team opened a three-game homestand with a 2-2 draw against Clovis. The Bulldogs ended the match 2-4-2 overall and Clovis left town 3-3-2.

Hancock struck first in the 20th minute when Angel Gallo found Migel Gomez, and the freshman scored to give Hancock a 1-0 lead. It marked the sixth goal of the season for Gomez, a freshman forward. The Bulldogs extended their lead in the second half when sophomore Jorge Guzman buried a shot to the back of the net in the 61st minute. Javier Rios was credited with the assist on Guzman's fourth goal of the year.

The Bulldogs led 2-0 until Clovis' offense came to life. Ozzy Torneo scored in the 72nd minute to cut the deficit to one. Sergio Gonzalez scored the equalizer 10 minutes later to force the tie.

Hancock finished with 11 shots in the match, including six on goal. Guzman led the Bulldogs with five shots.

Freshman goalie Maisen Baro made three saves for Hancock.

The Bulldogs continue their homestand Friday, September 23, at 4 p.m. against Chabot.
