Hancock Men's Soccer Hosts Citrus Tuesday

The men's soccer team will close out a three-game homestand Tuesday, September 27against Citrus College searching for its first win since September 6. Hancock is 0-3-2 in its last five games.  Last week, Hancock led 2-0 in the 71st minute against Clovis before settling for a 2-2 tie. Freshman forward Migel Gomez (Cabrillo HS) scored in the first half on a ball assisted by Angel Gallo (Orcutt Academy). Sophomore Jorge Guzman (Righetti HS) doubled Hancock's lead with a goal in the 61st minutes. Javier Rios (Lompoc HS) assisted on Guzman's goal. The Bulldogs fell 1-0 over the weekend to Chabot.

Hancock will host Citrus (3-3-1) on Tuesday, September 27, at 4 p.m. The Owls are coming off a 2-0 loss at Moorpark and 4-1 win over El Camino-Compton Center. Freshman forward Joel Rosales leads Citrus with three goals and two assists. Emilio Del Villar and Enrique Acosta have each scored twice this season.

After closing out their homestand Tuesday, the Bulldogs will head to Victor Valley for a 4 p.m. game on Friday, September 30. Victor Valley is 5-4-1 to start the season. Josh Goodman leads the team with eight goals and four assists. Miguel Zarate and Carlos Cruz have three goals apiece. Victor Valley has outscored its opponents 26 to 21 this season.

Hancock's offense continues to be paced by Gomez and Guzman. Gomez leads the team with six goals and four assists. Guzman has scored four times and has one assist.
