Hancock Men's Soccer Scores Come-From-Behind Win Over L.A. Mission 3-2

A three-goal outburst within a ten-minute period catapulted the Allan Hancock College men's soccer team to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over L.A. Mission in a Western State Conference match on Tuesday in Santa Maria. The Bulldogs closed the first half of conference action 2-3 and 10-5-2 overall. Hancock reached the 10-win mark for the first time since a 12-win campaign in 2010. L.A. Mission dropped to 0-3-2 in league and 4-8-4 on the season.

L.A. Mission scored the first two goals of the game – finding the back of the net in the 35th and 65th minutes. Unable to get their offense going, the Bulldogs finally came to life in the middle of the second half. Trailing 2-0, freshman Ulysses Cardona cut the deficit in half. The freshman's 12th goal of the season came in the 68th minute on a ball assisted by Saul Ayuso.

The Bulldogs tied it at 2-2 in the 74th minute when sophomore Migel Gomez found the back of the net for his 12th goal of the season. Hancock needed only four minutes to take the lead for good when sophomore Francisco Ayala scored on a ball from Alex Herrera. The sophomore assisted on Gomez's game-tying goal only to net his third goal of the campaign a few mines later to complete the comeback win.

Hancock goalie Antony Herrera made three saves in the net for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs will open the second half of conference play Friday at first place Santa Barbara City College. The Vaqueros are 4-0-1 in league and 10-0-4 overall. SBCC erased a 2-1 second-half deficit to defeat Hancock 4-2 in both teams' league openers earlier this month.
