Bulldogs Fall in Road Showing at Santa Monica

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer program fell 4-2 in a conference match on the road versus Santa Monica on Friday evening. | BOX SCORE

The Corsairs (5-5-2) had a 2-0 advantage at the intermission after a pair of goals in the opening half. They stretched the lead to three with an early goal after the break before Myles Baro could get Hancock (1-9-2) on the board in the 61st minute. Santa Monica squeaked out another goal in the 75th minute before Josue Celio snuck a shot past the keeper in the final minutes of play. 

As a team, the Bulldogs recorded 13 shot attempts in the contest while both teams placed eight attempts on target. Baro led the offensive effort for the squad with three shots, followed by two from Celio and Jose Perez. TJ Vinnedge recorded four saves but was charged with the loss in the box after 90 minutes of action. 

Friday's game moves Santa Monica to a 1-1 conference record while Hancock falls to 0-2 in the Western State Conference.

The Bulldogs will return home on Tuesday, October 19th, for a league match against LA Mission. Game time is set for 4 PM on the AHC Soccer Field.
