SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College men's soccer program added another win to the season record after defeating Monterey Peninsula College, 3-0, in the home opener on Friday afternoon. | BOX SCORE
The Bulldogs (2-0-1) were firing on all cylinders in the non-conference showing, despite a long delay due to transportation issues and an extended injury break in the first game of the day. Edgar Chavez scored a quick goal in the fourth minute with an assist by Eddie Garces to get things going. Caleb Toledo followed with a goal to open the second half, assisted by Erick Jimenez, before Garces sent a pass to Jimenez for the final tally in the 50th.
Hancock outshot the Lobos (0-2-0), 14-9, while placing nine attempts on-goal. Toledo led the effort with three shots on-target, followed by two apiece from Jimenez and Ace Espinoza.
Max Brewster picked up the win in the box with three saves through nearly 80 minutes of action before Manny Flores entered to close out the contest.
Up next is a trip to College of the Sequoias for another non-conference showing on Tuesday, September 10th, at 2 PM.
