Bio

Billy Vinnedge begins his 10th season as the head coach of the men’s soccer program and sixth as head coach of the women’s program in 2023.

Vinnedge has pushed both programs to new heights, with the men's team increasing win totals each season and the women's team making its first-ever postseason appearance in 2019. Under his guidance, the Bulldogs were able to secure the first Western State Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Year in 2018, the first award of its kind for the program in more than 15 years, and the first-ever share of the women's conference championship title in 2023. 

The Arroyo Grande High graduate was an All-Conference kicker for the Hancock football team in 2004 and 2005. He transferred to the University of Wyoming and served as the team’s punter and kicker for two seasons. He earned All-Mountain West Conference honors for football and academics his senior season. Vinnedge spent one preseason in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers. In January 2018, Vinnedge was inducted into Arroyo Grande High School’s Eagle Athletic Foundation Hall of Fame.

Vinnedge arrived at Hancock after he spent six years as the boy’s soccer coach at Nipomo High School, including the last four at the varsity level. He guided the Titans to four consecutive C.I.F. playoff appearances and the program’s first-ever Los Padres League title.

Vinnedge earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Wyoming and a master's degree in Coaching & Exercise Science from Concordia University-Irvine. He works as a launch site support engineer at Vandenberg Space Force Base. He also operates a kicking academy on the Central Coast to train placekickers and punters from throughout the state.
