Bulldogs Have Impressive Showing at the Bakersfield Relays

Under 80 degree weather in Bakersfield, the Hancock Track Team had an excellent team performance.

The Men's 4x1 team, Letarian Brandon, Eddie Carballo, Nathan Pacheco and Luis Soto, placed 3rd with a time of 52 flat. Kevin Lopez took 4th place in the javelin with a throw of 122ft and 4in. In the 100m race, Letarian Brandon also took 4th place honors with a time of 11.57.

On the women's side, Yadira Castellano took 3rd place in the 400 meter race. Michele Marcelleno placed 3rd in both the 800m and 1500m with the times of 2:52 and 5:47. Davina Valeria snagged two 1st place honors. She led the field in the high jump with a height of 4ft and 4 inches. She always walked away with 1st place in the pole vault  with 9ft 1 1/2 inches. The women's 4x4 team took 2nd place with a time of 4:54.

The Bulldogs hope to take this momentum into next weekend when they compete in the Cal Poly Invite.
