Softball Ready to Start Their Season Against LA Valley
The Allan Hancock College softball team is starting off the 2011 season with a doubleheader at home Tuesday Feb. 1 against Los Angeles Valley College. The first game starts at 1 p.m., the second game immediately follows.
The Bulldogs are looking to improve on their 4-13 record last season, with a new group of talented freshmen and two returning starters, Sadie DeQuattro and Salena Hernandez. DeQuattro, an outfielder, was named first team All-Conference last season. She batted .360 for the season and scored 10 runs and 18 hits for the Bulldogs. DeQuattro also pitched for the team, and had a 1-1 record and a 6.53 ERA. Hernandez had 23 runs and 24 hits and nine RBI's last season in 87 at bats.
