Salazar graduated from Righetti High School where she was a two-time All-League selection. She hit .378 with 24 runs, 28 RBI, 11 doubles and 3 triples her junior season when the Warriors won the CIF title.
Salazar, whose mother graduated from Hancock, is a business major.
