Despite a third-place finish in conference and a 21-win season, the Allan Hancock College softball team was not selected for the 2018 California Community College Athletic Association's Southern Regional Playoffs. Hancock's season ended with an 11-3 record in the Western State Conference – North Division and 21-13-1 overall.

Palomar received the region's No. 1 seed, followed by Mt. San Antonio, Cypress, El Camino and Santiago Canyon. Bakersfield, the Western State Conference – North Division champion, received the No. 6 seed. Ventura, which finished second in the conference ahead of Hancock, earned the No. 7 seed. Both teams will open the postseason at home. The Southern Regional features 18 teams in total.

Killough, the 2018 WSC Player of the Year, was one of 18 players from the Southern Regional named to the 2018 California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association's (3CFCA) 2018 All-State Team. The 2017 WSC Pitcher of the Year earned a spot on the all-state team for the second straight year. The sophomore ranked sixth in the conference this season with a .430 batting average and second with eight home runs. She ranked seventh in the state and led the conference with 52 RBI. The Arroyo Grande High School graduate went 11-5 in the circle with 86 strikeouts and a 2.70 ERA over 103 2/3 innings. She compiled six doubles, one home run and 25 RBI. She finished the regular season on a tear going 12-for-17 with seven RBI over her last five games.

This is the fourth time in the last five years that at least one Bulldog received all-state or all-regional honors from the 3CFCA.
