Get ready to be amazed by the Harlem Wizards at Allan Hancock College
April 20, 2010
The Harlem Wizards basketball team is taking over the gym at Allan Hancock College on Friday, April 23 with their own brand of “tricks, hoops and alley oops.” The Wizards hit the court at 7:30 p.m. against the “Cops 4 Kids”, a team composed of local law enforcement officers. The event is co-sponsored by the Allan Hancock College athletics department and the Righetti High School Athletic Boosters.
The Wizards will be a tough team to beat; their current winning streak started in 1989 and exceeds 3,000 games. With a roster full of former NBA players, college greats and countless street ballers, the Wizards know how to put on a show.
“Our goal every night is to create that magical feeling and bond between players and their fans. We truly want the fans to walk out inspired, happy and proud of their community,” said Wizards president Todd Davis.
Tickets to the game are \$10 for children and \$12 for adults presale, or \$12 and \$14 at the door. All proceeds from the event will benefit the athletics departments at Allan Hancock College and Righetti High School. Tickets are available online at www.rhsboosterclub.com and in person at multiple locations, including the Hancock bookstore on the Santa Maria campus; Righetti High School; Play it Again Sports in Santa Maria; and One Way Board Shop in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo.
