Bulldogs Beat Cuesta, Camille Zumbro Named WSC Player of the Week

            Camille Zumbro was named the Western State Conference Athlete of the Week in honor of her stellar performance against Cuesta College on Saturday Jan. 15 in which she scored 28 points, had nine rebounds and was nine of 20 from the field and nine of 10 from the line. Zumbro, a freshman guard, is ranked second in the conference in scoring and has a season total of 422 points.
            Sophomore Chrissy Bessermin also scored in the double digits against Cuesta with 14 points and seven rebounds. Sophomores Jozza Ray and Ashley Bonenfant scored nine points apiece and freshman Isabel Maldonado contributed eight points.
            After their latest win the Bulldogs have moved up to third in the Western State Conference and are now 2-1 in conference and 8-9 overall. The team is on the road Wednesday, Jan. 19 against Moorpark College, currently 2-2 and ranked fourth in the conference. The Bulldog’s next home game is Saturday Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. against Santa Barbara City College.
