Camille Zumbro is Academic All-State Student
November 4, 2011
Camille Zumbro was recently recognized as one of only five women’s basketball players in the state to earn recognition as an Academic All-State player. To earn the honor, Zumbro maintained an impressive 4.0 GPA throughout the basketball season and the entire school year.
“Camille is an outstanding individual both on the court and in the classroom,” said Kim Ensing, associate dean, kinesiology, recreation and athletics.
This is not the first time that Zumbro has been recognized at the state level, Ensing added. She was chosen as the California Community College Athletic Association Athlete of the Month in January, 2011 and was named first team All-Conference at the end of the 2010-11 season. On the court Zumbro averaged 26.7 points per game and was ranked second in the conference in scoring with a season total of 693 points.
Zumbro is returning for her second season with the Bulldogs, starting with the team’s first game at Taft College on Tuesday, Nov. 8. The Bulldog’s first home game is Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. against El Camino College.
