Hancock Women Look to Rebound with Two Road Games

The Hancock women will look to get back on track this week on the road when they travel to Oxnard on Wednesday and Moorpark on Saturday. Both games start at 7 p.m.

Hancock is coming off a tough 59-52 loss at home to Santa Barbara City College after overcoming a 16-point halftime deficit to stun LA. Pierce 62-59 earlier in the week. Ali Rodriguez recorded her first career double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds in the victory over the Brahmas. Rodriguez again led the Bulldogs with 15 points in the loss to the Vaqueros.

The Bulldogs are 1-4 in conference and 9-12 overall. Hancock, Santa Barbara, L.A. Pierce and Oxnard are tied for fourth place in the WSC standings. Oxnard is 1-14 this season with its only win coming in a conference game against Santa Barbara. Juliette Marquez is Oxnard's top scorer at 14.9 points per game. Tabitha Cunanan is shooting 46.7 percent from three-point range and averaging 9.4 points.

On Saturday, the women travel to Moorpark, a team that defeated Hancock 58-52 to open conference action. Moorpark is 12-8 overall and 4-1 in league and in third place in the standings. The Raiders fell 53-52 at second place Cuesta last weekend. Ashley Ontiveros is the team's leading scorer at 14 points per game, while Sydney Bennett averages 11 points and eight rebounds per game. Bennett scored a team-high 15 points, while Jessie Sager added 14 points in the six-point win at Hancock earlier this month.
