Looking For Third Straight Win, Hancock Women Host Reedley Tuesday at 3 p.m.

The women's basketball team will go for its third straight win when undefeated Reedley comes to town on Tuesday, November 24, at 3 p.m. The Bulldogs are 3-1 overall.

Last week, the Bulldogs won on the road 59-44 at LA Southwest College. Freshman Syenna Ramirez (St. Joseph HS) led the way with 17 points and a career-high five steals. Freshman forward Kelly McClain (Martin Luther King HS) added 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Sophomore Michaila Miller (Santa Barbara HS) added eight points and four rebounds, while freshman forward Destinee Garcia (Golden West HS) added six points, three rebounds and five steals.

After four games, Ramirez ranks fourth in the state by averaging 21.8 points per game. She is shooting 58.5 percent from the field and 40 percent from three-point range.  Sophomore guard Marissa Torres (Templeton HS) is the team's second-leading scorer at 11.5 points per game. Garcia is 7.8 points and a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game.

Reedley enters the week 3-0 with wins over Modesto (60-46), Monterey (60-57) and Gavilan (70-45) to open the season. Guard Samantha Velasquez is the team's leading scorer at 14 points per game. She is shooting 62 percent from three-point range and 56 percent overall. Center Cherokee Cardriche averages 10 points and six boards per contest.
