Lady Bulldogs Rout Pierce 73-30 in Final Non-Conference Game

Grace Rosa completed her fourth double-double, and Karly Beyers hit four 3-pointers to lead the Allan Hancock College women's basketball team to a 73-30 win over L.A. Pierce on Saturday in Joe White Memorial Gymnasium. The Bulldogs improved to 11-5, while the Brahmas fell to 1-13.

The Bulldogs led from start to finish. Hancock scored the first 25 points of the game and never looked back. The Bulldogs led 25-2 after the first quarter, and 35-13 at halftime.

Eleven different Bulldogs scored at least two points in the game. Rosa and Beyers each scored 14 points to lead the Bulldogs. Rosa made 7-of-14 from the field. The Paso Robles High School graduate had 11 rebounds, including nine on the offensive end.

Beyers made 5-of-10 overall from the field, including 4-for-9 from 3-point range. The freshman added six rebounds and one steal in her biggest offensive showing in 11 games.

Sophomore guard Syenna Ramirez hit 4 of 12 from the field and finished with nine points, nine rebounds and two steals. Taylor Lee-Hammer had six rebounds, six assists, three steals and three points. Naomi Leopardi had six points, 10 rebounds and two steals.

The Bulldogs shot 38 percent overall by hitting 32 of 85 from the field. Hancock finished with a season-high 66 rebounds, including 39 offensive rebounds. 

Hancock limited L.A. Pierce to 22 percent shooting from the field and held a 66-15 edge in rebounds. The Bulldogs also held a 30-0 edge on second-chance points.

The Bulldogs will open Western State Conference play next Saturday, January 14, at 5 p.m. against Ventura College. The Pirates have won the last 26 Western State Conference titles.
