Three Hancock Women's Basketball Players Score All-Conference Honors

The magical season continues to result in recognition for members of the Allan Hancock College women's basketball team. Coaches voted guards Taylor Lee-Hammer and Syenna Ramirez to the All-Western State Conference First Team. Freshman Grace Rosa received honorable mention in the conference's North Division.

Lee-Hammer is the Bulldogs' leading scorer at 12.4 points per game. She ranks fifth in the state in 3-point shooting percentage at 42.4 percent. The freshman guard averaged 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game. Among her season highlights were a 24-point game with seven 3-point buckets against Lassen; and 18 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and four assists against Barstow. The Colorado native averaged 13.9 points during conference play.

Ramirez, an All-Conference First Team pick in 2015-16 as a freshman, averaged 9.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game before she suffered a season-ending injury two weeks ago. The St. Joseph High School graduate contributed a 23-point game against Lassen; and three games with eight assists. The sophomore averaged 12 points per game in conference action.

Rosa ranks second on the team with 12.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per contest. The freshman scored 10+ points in 16 games, and pulled down 10+ rebounds in six games. The Paso Robles High School graduate compiled four double-doubles on the season. She scored a career-best 20 points in Hancock's 66-55 win over Oxnard to end the regular season.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season 17-9 overall and came in third in the Western State Conference standings. Hancock earned the No. 18 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs and will play at No. 15 Santa Ana at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are making their first postseason appearance since 1995.
