BULLDOGS RALLY IN THE 4th QUARTER, DEFEAT L.A. HARBOR

Balanced scoring and timely free-throws in the 4th quarter helped the Bulldogs win their season-opener 65-60 against L.A. Harbor on Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs started the game off strong, with 7 different players contributing points on the scoreboard. However, early foul trouble put Harbor on the line allowing them to have the lead at halftime, 30-35.

Harbor would start the 3rd quarter on fire, pushing their lead to 7-points. But the Bulldogs would fight back, closing the gap to 45-42 just before the end of the quarter.

The Bulldogs regained the lead 51-50 in the 4th quarter and would keep it. Free-throw shooting was a key factor, capped off by two clutch free-throws by freshman guard Danielle Morgan, who was 7 of 9 from the stripe. She calmly knocked down 2 of them with 20-seconds left on the clock to secure the victory. The Bulldogs win 65-60.

Morgan led the Bulldogs with 17-points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Sophomore guard Tawny Lino chipped in with 15-points. Sophomore point-guard Kylie Mendez was also a huge factor with 11-points, 4 assists and 3 steals.

The Bulldogs next matchup is Nov. 14th as they host Taft College. Tip-off is at 6pm at the Joe White Memorial Gymnasium.
