WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: TURNOVERS PLAGUE THE BULLDOGS, SUFFER FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: TURNOVERS PLAGUE THE BULLDOGS, SUFFER FIRST LOSS OF THE SEASON

Hancock traveled to face Reedley College Tuesday afternoon, but fell short, losing 48-57.

It appeared the Bulldogs were on their way to a third consecutive victory, leading by 7 points at halftime.

However, in the 3rd quarter, it seemed as though there was a lid on the rim for the Bulldogs. They were only able to net 4 points, while allowing 9 by the Tigers. Despite the run, the Bulldogs still held onto a 2-point lead at the start of the 4th quarter.

It was a back-and-forth battle for most of the quarter, until Reedley went on a run, out-scoring the Bulldogs 9-0 in the closing minutes.

Down 7 with just over a minute to play, the Bulldogs were forced to foul and put them on the line. Reedley was steady in crunch time, hitting timely free-throws to secure the victory with a final score of 48-57.

Sophomore guard Tawny Lino led the way with 18 points for the Bulldogs. Sophomore forward Tashara Pruett had a season-high 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.

The Bulldogs are now 2-1 and will face West L.A. College in the Cuesta College Tournament Thursday Nov. 29th. Tip-off is at 2pm.
