Women's Basketball Finishes De Anza Tournament with Loss to Victor Valley

The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team fell to the Victor Valley Rams 67-49 Saturday, November 9, on the final day of the De Anza Tournament. Jayci Bayne and Milan McGary combined for 28 of the Bulldog's points in the loss. The Bulldogs finished the tournament and start the season at 1-2 and the Rams improved to 2-2.

The Bulldogs roster has been hampered with injuries at the beginning of the season resulting in Hancock only suiting up five players.

Hancock had a tough time getting into a rhythm, only shooting 27% from the field. The Bulldogs found themselves trailing the entire game in points, rebounds and assists.

Bayne led the team in points for the second game in a row. Bayne scored 16 points, picked up six rebounds, three steals, and an assist.

McGary went 3-for-8 from the field and made five of her eight free throws for 12 points. McGary also picked up six rebounds and two steals.

Alijah Paquet scored nine points, picked up four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Maddie Miller picked up a team-leading seven rebounds and scored eight points.

Sarah Gudeman scored four points, picked up four rebounds as well as two assists, four steals, and two blocks.

The women's basketball team will be at home in Santa Maria Wednesday, november 13, at 3:00 where they take on last season's fifth ranked team from the College of the Sequoias. The game will be the first chance fans get to see their Lady Bulldogs in action at home this season. Be sure to follow Bulldog Athletics on the website or on social media at ahcbulldogs on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
