Bulldogs Bounce Back with Win Over Taft

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Allan Hancock College women's basketball team got back on track with a victory at home over Taft College on Thursday evening. 

The Bulldogs (3-3) held a slim five point advantage at the end of three frames, but an aggressive defense locked down the Cougars and held them scoreless in the fourth quarter. As a team, Hancock finished shooting 31 percent from the field while holding Taft (0-6) to a 26 percent showing. The Bulldogs dominated inside, winning the rebounding battle at a 46-35 advantage and notching 30 points in the paint. 

Kayla Taylor led all scorers on the night with an 18 point, 10 rebound performance. She also added three steals and one block while going 9-for-17 from the floor. Alijah Paquet also finished in double digits and totaled 11 points after hitting three shots from distance and going 2-for-2 from the charity stripe. She also posted a team-high of five assists while Aryana Gonzales dished out four. 

The squad will return to action tomorrow, March 26, with a trip to Taft College. Tip-off is set for 4 PM in Taft, Calif.
